General course description:
The 50K Solo and 50K Relay races will consist of 5 laps of the same 10K loop. This loop is Madison's most popular 10K race course, which takes runners along the shore of Lake Wingra, through scenic neighborhoods, and through the University of Wisconsin Arboretum. The entire course is pavement or sidewalks.
Race Start Times
50K Solo: 9:00 a.m.
50K Relay: 9:00 am.
The course will be open for
7 hours, and will officially close at
4:00 p.m.
Permanent mile markers are in place. About half of the course is flat and the other half has gentle hills. There will be two aid stations per 10K loop - one at the start/finish area and the other near the 5K mark.
