Race Date for 2012 - April 14 - 50K and 50K Relay
Race Director Tim (Timo) Yanacheck has announced the date and distances for the 2012 Mad City 100K. The date will be Saturday, April 14, 2012. The distances will be a 50-kilometer solo race and a 50-kilometer 5-person relay race. As always, the events will be held at Vilas Park in Madison, Wisconsin.

Bib number #1 to be worn by Chad Ricklefs
Former national champion, male ultrarunner of the year, and current member of Team USA, Chad Ricklefs of Boulder, Colorado, will be wearing bib number #1 in Saturday's 100-kilometer US national championship race. Chad finished third in the 2010 championships in Madison, and followed up with 14th place in the world championships in Gibraltar last November.

I.A.U. Bestows Bronze Label on 2011 Mad City 100K
The International Association of Ultrarunners (I.A.U.) has awarded Bronze Label status to the Mad City 100K and 2011 US national champuiosnhip race. The I.A.U. recognition ensures that race performances at the race this Saturday will be recognized worldwide by the international governing bodies of the sport.

Anderson-Abbs's 50K time in 2011
Beverley Anderson-Abbs of California holds dual U.S.A.-Canada citizenship. Her winning time of 3 hours, 44 minutes, 13 seconds in the our 2010 50-kilometer event has now been verified and accepted as the new Canadian national record for age 45 women. Bev's Mad City 50K time broke the Canadian record which had been standing since 2001.
