This is a call for volunteers for the Madcity 100K National Championship Race. The City of Madison, and race director Tim (Timo) Yanachek are proud to host the USA Track and Field 100K National Championships on Saturday April 12th, 2008. The event will begin and end at Vilas Park with 10 loops around beautiful Lake Wingra. In addition to the 100K race for individuals, there will also be a 100K relay for teams of up to ten runners.
Prize money of $9650. goes to the top six men and women finishers. Start time is 6:30 a.m. and the course closes at 7:30 p.m.
WE ARE IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS to ensure a safe and first class event for what promises to be an elite field of ultra runners.
Volunteers will be asked to do the usual things: work at one of the two aid stations, bike monitor the course, aid with directions, packet preparation and clean up. The reward will be a commemorative T-shirt and the joy of being a Madison host for this national championship.
We would like people to commit to a four hour time slot: 6 - 10 a.m., 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.,
2 - 6 p.m., or 6 - 10 p.m. Please volunteer by emailing John Selbo at burnie1436@sbcglobal.net and indicate a time slot preference. We will be in touch as we get closer to April 12th.
